    The Illinois College Music Department invites you to join us for an afternoon of activities designed specifically for trumpet players. Join our acclaimed trumpet teacher John Hume for an afternoon of instructional clinics, and masterclass sessions, and live performance. The event is free and open to any student grade 9-12 with appropriate trumpet experience and a desire to improve.     John Hume teaches trumpet at Illinois College and serves as principal trumpet for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. In addition he is an active solo performer as well as an orchestral and jazz musician throughout the region. Professor Hume holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Louisville and a Master of Arts from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His past teachers include Jerry Amend and Michael Tunnell.
