    1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

The Illinois College Music Department invites you to join us for an afternoon of activities designed specifically for oboe and bassoon players. Join our acclaimed double reed teacher Evan Tammen for an afternoon of instructional clinics, reed making sessions, and live performances. The event is free and open to any student grade 9-12 with appropriate oboe or bassoon experience and a desire to improve. Learn more about our instructor or register for the workshop below.

In addition to teaching oboe and bassoon at Illinois College, Evan Tammen is a noted performer and teacher throughout the midwest. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University where he was the winner of the 2008 Concerto/Aria completion. He holds a Master’s degree in performance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, where he is currently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts. While serving as teaching assistant to the oboe studio at UIUC, Mr. Tammen also served as principal oboe in the Wind Symphony, a role for which he was honored with the prestigious Edmund C. Williams and A. A. Harding awards. Evan also serves on the advisory board for Sinfonia da Camera, a professional chamber orchestra in residence at the University of Illinois, and as Assistant Director of Development for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
